In addition to viewing the object shot from the LCD screen, the SX40 features an electronic viewfinder that displays an image 230 thousand pixels. However, because the size is too small, the target object to be less comfortable.

Like a DSLR camera, the body is filled with some of the SX40. At the top right there are buttons to change shooting modes.

While the four-way button on the back of the camera function to enter the menu, change the ISO, exposure compensation setting, activate the self-timer, and change the focus mode.

Menu system to be one of the strengths of this camera for easy operation. The SX40 flash enabled manually. Again, like a DSLR camera, at the top of the SX40 is also available hot shoe for Canon Speedlite flash place.

Performance

Canon PowerShot SX40 HS is not the fastest camera with recording capabilities. To take the first picture, it took 2.5 seconds. After that, the recycle time of 0.4 seconds and 0.5 second shutter lag. Simply amazing.

For image sharpness, SX40 has an average of 1836 lines per picture. That number exceeds the standard size standard for the line 1800 can be said to be very sharp. Even so, the rate of SX40 was not the highest.

Besides taking still images, SX40 is able to record high definition video (HD) 1080p. The resulting film is pretty good. But, when the camera is moved quickly when recording, there is an impression fractures. There is a possibility is due to the rolling shutter effect.

To view video recordings or photographs, SX40 can be linked to a computer via mini-USB. As for the look on television, either through mini-HDMI cable.

All the beautiful moments of the target can be stored in the media, of SD cards, SDHC, and SDXC.
