Rolls-Royce crowned the most luxurious car brands 2012

In a glamorous ceremony held in Beijing, China this month, the World Luxury Association (WLA) is a non-profit research organization bestows the Top 100 most valuable luxury brand this year.



They sort them into 10 segments, each of which consists of the 10 best luxury brands in the fashion category, airplanes, yachts, cars, jewelry, watches, cosmetics, alcoholic beverages, luxury resorts and most innovative brands.

For the category of luxury cars, Rolls-Royce managed to sit on top of the list, followed by Bentley and Ferrari. The new brand appears surprising as Spyker (former owner of Saab) and Koeniggsegg. In that list, the name Maybach from Daimler is not visible.

"With the phenomenon of China's currency RMB appreciation and depreciation of the euro and the number of Chinese tourists who visited Europe in 2012, the total consumption of luxury goods is expected to reach 59 billion euros which is the highest on record." WLA said.

"The purchasing power of Chinese outside China will encourage a buyer country's strongest luxury goods in the world." added the organization.
